His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, passes away at the age of 99
His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, has died, Buckingham Palace has announced.

Buckingham Palace said: "It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
"His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle."

On behalf of the President, Michael Schmidt, and the BCCG Board and Council we express our deepest condolences to the Royal Family.

Key information for UK nationals in Germany
IMPORTANT: Action required by 30 June 2021
UK nationals who were resident in Germany before 1 January 2021 have until 30 June 2021 to request their new residence card, which confirms their rights under the Withdrawal Agreement.

Further important actions for UK nationals in Germany
In addition to requesting a new residence document (Aufenthaltsdokument-GB) UK nationals should:
1. Exchange your UK driving licence for a German one
2. Check your passport validity

Die Enquetekommission des Landtags zum Austritt des Vereinigten Königreichs Großbritannien und Nordirland („Brexit“) aus der EU hat heute 127 Handlungsempfehlungen vorgelegt. Sie beziehen sich auf die Fragen, welche Folgen eingetreten sind, was Nordrhein-Westfalen noch bevorsteht und wie das Land darauf reagieren kann. Deutlich wird: Der Brexit trifft Nordrhein-Westfalen im besonderen Maße. Grund sind unter anderem die besonderen Beziehungen durch die Gründung des Landes durch die Briten und die in Teilen komplementären Wirtschaftsstrukturen. Der Bericht umfasst 349 Seiten und wird am 26. März 2021 im Plenum des Landtags beraten. [...]

On 31 December last year, the UK left the EU’s Single Market and Customs Union. This was the biggest change in the UK’s trading relationships for decades. The Government has always been clear that this meant change for business and for citizens, including new processes and requirements.

The first phase of such changes came in on 1 January. The Government has put in place the staffing, infrastructure, and IT to deal with the situation. Thanks to the hard work of traders and hauliers, we have not seen anything like the generalised disruption at our ports which many predicted, and supply chains have shown themselves to be robust.
